President Uhuru Kenyatta has said that education will be his biggest priority as he begins the second term in office.

In his inauguration speech, the president directed that all Form One admissions must be done by next month.

He said that each of the nearly one million children who sat their Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examinations this year must know their respective secondary schools by Christmas.

“I direct that, in line with our promise of free day secondary school education, all candidates who sat their KCPE this year will know their Form One placement by Christmas this year,” said Uhuru.

The president said education remained his top priority and said the country was set for major reforms in the sector.

“The greatest joy of my presidency has been my interaction with them (students). They have been and remain my greatest strength and inspiration. They are a clean slate, on which we can write the future,” said Uhuru.
