President Uhuru Kenyatta now demands that all leaders elected on a NASA ticket to resign should the opposition insist on sending electoral body IEBC home.
At Kajiado on Tuesday Uhuru said his team is ready for a rematch as announced by the commission adding that demands by Raila Odinga were a sign of ‘panic and lack of confidence’.
“If he wants IEBC to vacate from office he should start by telling James Orengo to resign and other elected leaders in NASA because they are beneficiaries of the same body,” he said.
A charged Uhuru added:”Jubilee is ready to teach him another lesson and I wonder why he is not willing. The trend will be the same and he should stop panicking.”
IEBC set October 17th as the date for election a move that was dismissed by Odinga who called for a total overhaul in the commission before next polls.
In his address at Wilson Airport, Odinga maintained that NASA will accept an election after radical surgery in the commission and even named IEBC CEO Ezra Chiloba as the top target.
