Speaking at the party headquarters after he was endorsed by the Maa community to vie for the presidency in the next general election, Raila said President Kenyatta is using the army to fight the poor, innocent Kenyans instead of addressing their problems.

"The Maa community cannot live well since Uhuru is not ready to address historical injustices and he was using the army against poor innocent citizens. We are not at war," said Raila as quoted by the Star.

The former prime minister also rubbished claims that he has been discriminatory when it comes to fighting for the freedom of Kenyans.

“I said Kibaki tosha knowing he is a Kikuyu. I have fought for the rights of all Kenyans irrespective of age, tribe and race and he still wants to lie to them I am the problem,” added Raila.

Leaders from different parts of the nation have been lashing at the Cord leader for defending corrupt governors belonging to ODM including Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi whose county has been accused of mismanaging Sh51 million.
