President Uhuru Kenyatta has been lauded for his visit to Kisii and Nyamira, a perceived opposition's stronghold.
According to Francis Omache a Kisii based criminologist, he said this will help bond the people together ahead of the 2017 general election.
“The president’s visit to Nyamira and Kisii, is a message of peace at the right time to ensure the incoming 2017 elections will be peaceful," said Omache.
"The president is uniting the country and ensuring development in every part,” he added.
He was speaking following Uhuru’s visit in Kisii after NCIC termed Kisii among other counties as a potential hotspot of PEV come 2017.
"The opposition should also do the same and visit Jubilee strongholds to lower political temperatures in the country. If violence is to erupt then we should blame ourselves for not uniting the nation,” said Omache.
