President Uhuru Kenyatta is expected to visit Western region before December as the clock to 2017 ticks away.
During the tour, he will meet governors Sospeter Ojaamong (Busia), Wycliffe Oparanya (Kakamega), Moses Akaranga (Vihiga) and Kenneth Lusaka (Bungoma).
The agenda of the meeting between the president and the governors is still unknown but reliable sources hinted to this writer on Friday that the commander in chief will be seeking the county chief's support ahead of next year's elections.
Among functions he is expected to preside over include the Kibabi University graduation ceremony, opening of a water project in Navakholo, reopening of Pan Paper factory in Webuye as well as the commissioning of the tarmacking of the Busia-Malaba road.
Interestingly, however, as the president will be in Kakamega, ODM party leader Raila Odinga will also be in the county in the same day.
The opposition chief will be presiding over an ODM delegates conference at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology.
The conference draws over 5,000 delegates in the counties of Bungoma, Kakamega, Busia, Vihiga and Trans Nzoia.
