President Uhuru Kenyatta young lawyer Mellisa Ng’ania on Tuesday night won a major argument for her client at the Supreme Court.
Ng'ania had told the court not to admit memos which had been 'illegally' obtained from IEBC.
“They are clearly internal memos. Without such request it is best to assume that they were obtained illegally,” she said.
She told the court the petitioners had not followed due procedure in obtaining the documents.
She also added that allowing such documents in court would infringe on the independence of the electoral body.
The six bench judge agreed with her and expunged the documents.
Mellisa shot to fame during the August 8 presidential petition after she featured in Mr Kenyatta's legal team.She stood out among the seasoned lawyers.
