Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Onyonka wants President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto to desist from campaigning in the region until reforms are affected within IEBC.

He further accuses the two of using state resources to propel their campaign agenda contrary to election laws provision.

At Nyamira on Friday during the burial of Benga maestro Bernard Onsongo, Onyonka urged locals to avoid rallies by the head of state.

“They are campaigning using state resources at the time we want reforms within the commission. That is totally unacceptable.

“They are not welcome to campaign in Gusii and whenever you see them, just avoid the rallies. We must first reform IEBC to prepare a level ground,” he further said.

On November 7th, Onyonka will face Jubilee’s Antony Kibagendi in parliamentary elections which were delayed following the death of Jubilee candidate Leonard Mwamba.

Since the nullification of his victory, Uhuru has toured the region once along with holding indoor meetings with various leaders from Gusii at State House.
