A section of Jubilee Party officials drawn from Nyandarua County have dismissed the "UhuRuto Express" leaders terming it as a ‘group of thugs.'

The lobby group is led by Kigumo MP Jamleck Kamau and his Othaya counterpart Mary Wambui and seeks to mobilize voters in perceived Jubilee Party strongholds go turn up to vote during the August polls.

The group includes political leaders who predominantly lost during the Jubilee Party primaries.

But speaking earlier in the week, Nyandarua JP secretary general Peter Macithi disregarded the group, accusing it of wrecking Jubilee Party from within.

“No one sent them. They only want to make a statement that they lost during the party primaries and need to be included in the government,” he noted.

UhuRuto Express has been calling on the electorate to vote for President Uhuru Kenyatta but choose whoever they wish in all other elective seats.

“How can you say you are in Jubilee and tell people to decide who to elect for other positions after voting for the President?” he posed.

“I don’t think they are genuine. They are only seeking recognition after failure," he added.
