President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto walked to a hostile reception in Kilifi County on Thursday during their tour of the Coast region.

The President and a host of Jubilee leaders had a hard time convincing residents to listen to the speeches as locals chanted "unga" in response to the Jubilee Party slogan "Tuko Pamoja".Kilifi North MP Gideon Mung'aro who is eying the county seat had a hard time addressing the locals as he was shouted down by the incensed crowd.Despite the recent announcement by the government that subsidized maize flour will retail at Sh90, the residents claimed that they are buying the same commodity at Sh160.However, Uhuru and Ruto did not address the matter and instead defended the government's development record in the region.Uhuru blasted the opposition for discrediting Jubilee’s development record, arguing that the Raila Odinga-led NASA coalition is thriving on propaganda in their hunt for votes.Uhuru used the occasion to poke holes into the opposition leaders' development record, saying they have nothing to show for their time in government.
