[Photo: Jackson Mandago]Uasin Gishu County governor Jackson Mandago has welcomed President Uhuru Kenyatta in the North Rift county.This is despite his earlier threats that he would mobilise support for Jubilee Party rivals in the August 8 polls, if top leadership of his party, continues to support independent candidates.Mandago, Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi and their Nandi Hills counterpart Alfred Keter slammed Deputy President William Ruto and Uhuru, saying they supported aspirants who lost in Jubilee primaries, instead of supporting loyal members.The trio are seeking re-election, with the governor facing Opposition from wealthy businessman Bundotich Buzeki who is vying as independent candidate, with critics saying he is DP Ruto's 'project'.However, Friday, Mandago said he was privileged to host the leader of his Jubilee party, who was in Eldoret for the KDF recruits pass-out parade at Moi Barracks RTS.Mandago also acknowledged Ruto and Uhuru's presence in his county, Saturday, where they are scheduled to conduct a major rally in Ziwa, after making stopovers in various trading centres."I t is privilege to host Jubilee Party leader and President of the Republic of Kenya, Commander in Chief H.E Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy H.E William Samoei Ruto in our county for a series of activities for three days beginning today," Mandago said, Friday."The president will be touring various projects in the region as well as campaign for the JP candidates in Uasin Gishu County and the entire North Rift. Tomorrow (Saturday) we will be making several stops before addressing a major JP rally in Ziwa," added the governor.
