The Jubilee government has yet again been subjected to scholarly criticism on its approach to youth empowerment and policies by Kisii based don Nyachieo Bogonko.

The youthful regime under the supervision of President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy William Ruto campaigned on youth power during the 2013 polls.

Speaking during a public lecture at Jaramogi Oginga University-Kisii campus, Bogonko questioned the mode of appointment to state cooperation’s accusing the president of favoring ‘retirees’.

“For the first time Kenya elected a youthful government but I haven’t seen much changes with regard to youth empowerment and policies. They have totally disappointed on improvement on living standards of the youthful generation,” he said.

“I have seen them appointing retirees to state cooperation’s and on excuse the youths are not experienced. This government is a disgrace to youths and I strongly question the unemployment rate we are experiencing,” he said.

On youth enterprise fund, he questioned its management and the commitment of the state towards making it a useful find that could uplift the livelihoods of millions of youths.

“Youth enterprise fund has been bureaucratic and underwhelming. The government has shown little interest in putting it in order because it benefits a few individuals and that is why Jubilee is facing rebellion from a section of youths,” he added.
