National Super Alliance (NASA) under the leadership of Cord leader Raila Odinga has continued to poke holes into the current government over the cost of living.
This comes after a section of leaders aligned to the National Super Alliance (NASA) accused President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto of using projects and government subsidy on maize and unga as a bait to win the votes of Kenyans in the forthcoming general polls.
Led by Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi and woman representative Aisha Jumwa, the leaders said that the current government’s move to reduce the price of some of the basic commodities is suspicious.
The leaders, who spoke on Tuesday at Ngerenya Dispensary in Tezo ward after inspecting development projects, said that life has been costly and unbearable for the average Kenyan.
“The Jubilee government has announced it will reduce the cost of maize flour to Sh90 per 2kg packet. This is bait for your votes. But once you make a mistake of reelecting them, prices will go higher,” he said, said as quoted by Star.
The county boss, a close ally of Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho also questioned how projects have been hastily completed as we head to the next general polls yet the current leadership has done little in the last four years.
He further poked holes into the importation of maize from Mexico. Cord leader Raila Amolo Odinga has also launched a scathing attack on President Uhuru Kenyatta’s government over the high cost of living.
