The head of state launched several projects in the region including Sh1.4 billion Phase Two of the Kiambere water pipeline project.
Uhuru said that the new projects will benefit 150,000 residents of Mwingi North. The former vice president was the area MP before 2013.
The president addressed rallies in different places including Kyuso Primary School, where he was accompanied by Deputy President William Ruto.
The duo also made a stopover at Kyuso Stadium. He also commissioned the construction of the road from Kamuwongo market to Tseikuru.
During the tour, the president said that his government has done a lot for the people of Machakos and the rest of Kenyan, adding that he deserves another term in office.
He also took a swipe at former Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga and other leaders aligned to NASA for promising to change the current constitution in order to create jobs for the rest of the principals when that time comes.
The tour comes less than two months to the August election date. The president is contesting for the last time following the change of the constitution.
