Lamu Women Representative Shakila Abdallah has criticized the Jubilee government, accusing it of doing nothing to alleviate Kenyans from harsh economic conditions.Shakila claimed that Jubilee is not concerned with the high cost of living currently being experienced in the country.Addressing supporters at Lamu Town on Tuesday, the Women Rep said millions of Kenyans are struggling to put food on the table.“It is unfortunate that the Jubilee administration is not feeling Kenyans desperation and anguish in regards to the high cost of living,” she said, as quoted by People Daily.“Many Kenyans cannot afford unga, milk and even sugar because of the high prices and yet we have a government that is not even bothered with what is happening,” she added.Shakila said President Uhuru Kenyatta will be a one term president because of the misdeeds his government has engaged in for the last four years. She said the high cost of living is as a result of massive corruption witnessed in Jubilee’s administration.“Kenya has been looted and the result is the high cost of unga, milk and sugar,” she said.Shakila said Kenyans will redeem themselves if they vote out the Jubilee government in the August 8 polls. The Wiper Party deputy leader said Kenyans have lost hope in Jubilee and that time has come for UhuRuto to go home. She urged Kenyans to support NASA, arguing the alliance will fight to bring the cost of living down. The Jubilee administration has been criticized for failing to cushion Kenyans from hard economic times with political analysts warning that the high cost of living and corruption could be UhuRuto’s road block to re-election in August.Last week, President Kenyatta said a supplementary budget will be passed to lower the cost of living.
