President Uhuru Kenyatta will today (Tuesday) be in Uasin Gishu county to solidify is support base with a week before Kenyans go to the polls.
According to the itinerary from the Jubilee party presidential campaign team, the president together with his deputy William Ruto will preside over the launch of the construction of the Eldoret by pass at Cheplaskei centre before addressing a mega rally at the 64 stadium.
The visit comes barely a week after the National Super Alliance (NASA) visited the county to drum up support for its presidential candidate Raila Odinga where they also endorsed Jubilee's gubernatorial candidate incumbent Jackson Mandago.
Analysts say the move might play to the advantage of the opposition especially after Mandago also endorsed an ODM Member of County Assembly candidate in Langas.
The President and his deputy are expected to reign on to the matter as they seek to ensure they get majority of the 450,000 votes in the county.
Apart from the visit in Uasin Gishu, the two are also scheduled to hold public rallies in Bumula and Kimilili in Bungoma county, Kabarnet in Baringo before wrapping up the day in Nyandarua.
