Exclusive photos have emerged online showing President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto watching opposition outfit NASA unveiling their presidential candidate on television from Jubilee headquarters in Pangani.
Before unveiling Raila Odinga, who faced the duo in 2013, NASA had kept her supporters guessing for over four months ever since opposition parties united under the coalition.
Although they have since dismissed NASA’s lineup as ‘ordinary’, the two followed the unfolding events keenly as Mr. Odinga, the son of former opposition doyen being unveiled at Uhuru Park in front of thousands of enthusiastic supporters.
And the photo, which circulated online shows the two surrounded with a handful of their supporters in a secluded room from Jubilee Headquarters.
Moments before NASA leaders arrived at Uhuru Park, the country’s top leaders were addressing a press conference at JP headquarters over the ongoing party nominations.
Mr. Odinga 72 would be trying his luck for the fourth time after three unsuccessful attempts with his closest real chance coming in 2007 when projected results showed that he had beaten his rival retired President Mwai Kibaki.
