President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto have laughed off opposition outfit NASA’s decision to propose Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka to be their challengers in August elections just a day after the two were unveiled.

Having lost to the duo in 2013, Odinga and Musyoka are now preparing another bruising battle in August which they termed as a final liberation war moments after they were unveiled on Thursday.

But in a quick rejoinder on Friday, Kenyatta and Ruto exuded confidence that they will beat the two opposition leaders without campaigning.

“We thought they were giving us a different lineup but they have recycled. I don’t think we need a campaign to beat these losers. Who doesn’t know them?” asked Ruto while on a road stop in the outskirts of Nairobi.

“They have nothing new to tell Kenyans. All they are doing is creating non existing positions that will not help ordinary Kenyans. We are waiting for them in August,” added Kenyatta.

Despite their tough talk, the two were spotted at Pangani Jubilee Headquarters watching TV anxiously NASA’s function at Uhuru Park.

In 2013, the duo beat Odinga and Musyoka by slightly surpassing the 50 percent constitutional threshold in a contest that was settled by Supreme Court.
