National Super Alliance (Nasa) deputy presidential candidate Kalonzo Musyoka has expressed confidence that the ruling Jubilee government will not retain power in the forthcoming August 8 elections.
Through a statement sent to news rooms on Sunday, the wiper leader turned down president Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto’s offer to join Jubilee government saying the two were heading to towards opposition.
Uhuru and Ruto had on Saturday during a Jubilee campaign tour in Makueni county, asked Kalonzo to quit Nasa since he is being misled by Nasa flag bearer Raila Odinga and join Jubilee so that he can team-up with the DP in the 2022 general election.
“It is comical for Uhuru and Ruto to ask me to join them as they match towards Opposition trenches, for that is surely where they will be after the August 8th, 2017 General Election,” said Kalonzo.
The Nasa co-principal also alleged uhuru’s hometown, Gatungu, is facing the same problems other regions in Kenya are facing yet it has produced two Kenya’s presidents.
“Ironically, Gatundu is like most parts of Ukambani and other rural areas of Kenya in general. Abject poverty, charactarised by debilitating jigger menace, as well as alcoholism and drug abuse, pervade the area that so far prides itself in having produced two presidents of this country his father Jomo Kenyatta, and Uhuru himself,” Kalonzo added.
