The British High Commission has dismissed reports that it has issued a travel advisory against Laikipia.
This after several invasions by bandits were witnessed in the area on private farms.
In a statement sent to newsrooms by The Foreign Commonwealth Office, the commission had sent a factual update in reflection to invasions, but did not issue a travel advisory.
"This was a factual update, to reflect the recent increase in armed incursions on private farms and wildlife conservation areas in Laikipia," read the statement.
Factual updates reflect unfolding events in the country which may be relevant to UK nationals in terms of security, health, local laws and customs, entry requirements, etc). They do not advise against travel to a given area.
The commission noted that UK nationals were free to make their own decisions regarding travel based on the information given.
