The UK government has deported a woman to Kenya 15 years after she moved into the European country.
This is despite the woman having all her family in the country (UK) and no ties left in Kenya since they made the move 15 years ago.
43-year-old Zeenat Jamal previously lived in Kenya but the family obtained UK passports that they have been using since their migration.
Zeenat’s application for the papers however did not go through even after she entered a 6-year relationship with Briton Brooke Gaughan.
"We met six years ago in London and decided to move to Cardiff in 2012, before settling in Dinas Powys two years ago and my sisters have been living in London," she said.
She lamented over the deportation saying she did not expect to find Kenya comfortable because she has no relatives around.
"How am I meant to go back? They plan to deport me yet all my family is in England," she said.
Kenya’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has said it is yet to receive communication from England but would move in to help once the issue reaches them.
