In a bid to end corruption in the country, the UK government has promised to support the Kenya in its fight. UK ambassador to Kenya Nic Hailey has challenged Kenya's elected leaders to stand up against corruption. The British High Commissioner further noted those found guilty should be punished.“I think tackling corruption is the biggest thing that the Kenyan government needs to do, all the governors and government officials at every level need to tackle corruption in this country," Hailey is quoted by Citizen Digital.He also noted the UK government will invest in resources which will help in recovering stolen assets from public coffers.“As Kenya’s partner, we are committed to doing everything that we can, that includes training for legal cases and helping to get assets back from the UK implying that when people have stolen money through corruption. That money can be brought back and be used for the benefit of Kenyan people,” Hailey said.The UK envoy statement comes just a few days to the October 17 repeat presidential election.
