The United Kingdom on Friday issued a statement asking political players in Kenya to work together to ensure the nation prospers.
The statement issued by UK minister for Africa, Rory Stewart, said they regret the withdrawal of Odinga in the October 26 repeat polls.
"I emphasised my regrets to Raila over his decision to withdraw from elections and urged him to work with others to ensure democratic elections happen per the Constitution," said Stewart.
Stewart reaffirmed UK commitment to ensure Kenya conducts free, fair, and credible polls but questioned the rush by Jubilee to push for the election amendment bill, which he said raises more tension in the country.
"UK is a great supporter of Kenya's Constitution and institution. It is important for all Kenyans that elections take place in line with the Supreme Court ruling of September 1," he added.
