[Photo: Reuters]The UK government on Tuesday issued a travel advisory to its citizens in Kenya asking them to keep off areas that are likely to experience chaos following the Thursday election standoff.According to the Star, Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) asked British citizens to avoid traveling around regions where protests are likely. This followed media report that the governors of Kisumu, Siaya, Homa Bay, Kakamega and Migori have said that elections won’t be allowed to take place in their counties."The western part of the country has seen an increase in protests in the run up to elections, some of which have turned violent. The standoff may trigger further protests." said a statement by FCO as quoted by the Star.A cloud of uncertainty has engulfed the fresh election after the Opposition pulled out of the repeat poll.NASA leader Raila Odinga said he will not take part in the election and speaking to BBC, Odinga asked his backers to remain at home on voting day. This was a deviation from an earlier plan where the opposition was to hold peaceful demonstrations on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
