Machakos Gubernatorial aspirant Wavinya Ndeti has urged locals to vote out non-performing leaders in the August 8 general election.

Speaking during the burial of Mutituni Ward MCA Joseph Kalunde in Machakos on Thursday, Ndeti said that locals have an opportunity to vote leaders who will champion for development.

Ndeti said that Machakos and Ukambani region is poor because of bad leadership.

She said that the region needs leaders who will champion development and boost local’s living standards.

“I urge Kamba people in Machakos and Ukambani region at large to vote for leaders who will push for development,” she said as quoted by Daily Nation.

The Chama Cha Uzalendo (CCU) leader said that Ukambani can be transformed into a development hub if locals elect visionary leaders.

Wavinya who is eyeing to unseat incumbent Dr Alfred Mutua urged politicians to spearhead issue based campaigns.

“There is no need for politicians to malign each other’s reputation through malicious propaganda,” she said.

She also urged locals to remain peaceful as the country gears up to the August general election.
