Makueni governor Professor Kivutha Kibwana has asked Jubilee politicians to back off the region.
Kibwana says that President Uhuru Kenyatta will not get a single vote from the region in the repeat presidential election.
Addressing residents at Wote Town on Saturday, Kibwana said that Kamba’s are loyal to the opposition and will not be cheated or influenced to support President Kenyatta.
Kibwana slammed a section of Kamba politicians who are working with Jubilee saying they are wasting their time.
He termed the politicians led by former Kitui Senator David Musila as traitors.
“Let Musila and his camp know that they cannot force or influence Kamba people to vote for Uhuru Kenyatta,” he said as quoted by the Standard.
Governor Kibwana accused Musila and his group of misleading the people, accusing them of being desperate for power.
“These people (Kamba politicians working with Jubilee) were rejected on the ballot and we will not allow them to confuse our people,” he said.
Kibwana said that Jubilee does not have the interests of the Kamba nation. He said that it is only NASA that can redeem the region from its problems
On Saturday a section of Kamba politicians, the clergy and the business community pledged to work with Jubilee.
The politicians said that the region is tired of being in the proposition.
Ukambani overwhelmingly voted for NASA in the recently concluded general election. The opposition is keen to maintain the votes ahead of the October 17 presidential repeat.
