Former vice president and cord co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka has been given an ultimatum by a section of Kamba community leaders to provide the right direction for Ukambani.
Ukambani’s Jubilee MPs have said that the Wiper leader has up to 30 days to make up his mind and communicate to the community, failure to which someone else will take the mandate from him.
Led by Yatta legislator Francis Mwangangi, the Members of Parliament said that the community’s future in politics had been held at stake by the Cord co-principal whom they accused of being indecisive.
"Kalonzo has for long considered himself the leader of the Kamba community and if he truly is, then we need to be told the direction this community should take, failure to which someone else will do it," said Mwangangi.
MP for Mbooni Michael Kisoi added to Mwangangi’s sentiments and said that no single person shall hold a whole community at ransom with what he termed as selfish intentions.
"It's time we sit down together as leaders for dialogue regardless of our differences and parties and focus on the interest of the community," he added.
The leaders spoke this during a meeting they named the Matuu Declaration, and where they vowed to popularise the Jubilee coalition if Musyoka failed to act within the deadline given.
"We are going to carry out campaigns to reach out to all other leaders, even those in the Coastal region, to build support so that we can be in government," Kisoi added.
