Leaders from Ukambani have revisited a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Wiper Party Leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka and Former Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga. According to The Star, the leaders want to push for Kalonzo’s presidency before 2022.

Raila has assured Kalonzo, a former vice president, that he will back him when that time comes.  Led by Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana, the leaders have said that they will ensure that Kalonzo is on the ballot box.

They spoke during a meeting at a hotel in Athi River, Machakos County, on Thursday.

"Wiper intends to stamp its authority with regard to the MOU signed by NASA affiliate parties which identified Kalonzo as the 2022 candidate," the Governor said, as quoted by The Star.

The meeting was attended by several leaders including MPs Paul Nzengu (Mwingi North),  Robert Mbui (Kathiani), Jessica Mbalu (Kibwezi East), Gedion Mulyungi (Mwingi Central) and Thaddeus Zambia (Kilome)

In the meantime, Raila has unveiled his plans to form the people’s association through which he will push for another election. The opposition leader has maintained that President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto are holding office unconstitutionally.
