A section of leaders from Ukambani who lost in the August 8 general elections have joined Jubilee Party.

Led by former Kaiti MP Gideon Ndambuki the leaders vowed to carry out intensive campaigns to ensure President Uhuru Kenyatta emerges with a resounding victory.

"We have seen the many development projects President Kenyatta has initiated in Ukambani and that is why we have resolved to mobolise the community to back his re-election in October 17," said Ndambuki after a consultative forum on Wednesday.

Among the leaders who were present include: former MPs Regina Ndambuki (Kilome), Philip Kaloki (Kibwezi), former Makueni County Speaker Stephen Ngelu and his deputy Bernard Musau.

Others were Sports Kenya Chairman Fred Muteti, Kaiti MP loser Joseph Kioko and Makueni Women Rep loser Wavinya Nzioka.

Ukambani voted overwhelmingly for Opposition presidential candidate Raila Odinga in the General Election whose outcome was declared invalid, null and void by the Supreme Court on September 1.

Kalonzo Musyoka, the region's political kingpin, is Raila's running mate.
