Former Kibwezi MP Kalembe Ndile has asked politicians in the Ukambani region to put aside their sideshows ahead of President Uhuru Kenyatta visit of the region starting today.

Ndile on Thursday asked politicians to come together and welcome the President to the region saying that his visit is based on development.

The former lawmaker said that personal political side shows are not needed adding that all politicians should focus on welcoming the President.

“We are urging Ukambani politicians to come together and welcome Uhuru Kenyatta during his visit that starts today,” said Ndile on phone.

The former MP said that everything has been put in place ahead of the Head of State three day visit.

Ndile stated that they expect Uhuru to launch various development projects in Machakos, Kitui and Makueni during his visit.

President Kenyatta is expected in the county starting today and his first stop over will be Machakos County.

There have been claims that former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka is part of the delegation expected to welcome Kenyatta in the region.

Uhuru visit in the region according to State House Spokesperson Manoah Esipisu is based on development projects.

However political experts say that Uhuru will use the three day tour to woe locals’ ahead of the 2017 elections especially after his fall out with former Lands CS Charity Ngilu.

Ukambani region is a Cord stronghold and Jubilee will be keen to woe voters to their side as the next year’s general election approaches.
