[Photo/Reuters]Ukambani residents have been urged to support President Uhuru Kenyatta's reelection in the October 26 repeat presidential poll.Rose Wambua, Jubilee Party candidate for Kangundo parliamentary seat on August 8 general election, told the Kamba community to back Jubilee as they are poised to benefit more under Uhuru's regime than in the Opposition."The Jubilee administration has initiated many development projects in Machakos County which will translate to better livelihoods for our people," she said.The politician added: "Uhuru should be given another term because he has demonstrated the commitment to transforming the country."Wambua came second to Fabian Kyule Muli of Muungano Party who won the highly contested seat.Kyule garnered 15,327 votes while Wambua got 11,428 votes.Wiper's Kyengo Katatha Maweu was backed by 7,662 voters while Titus Nzeki Mathiku of Maendeleo Chap Chap garnered 3,927 votes.Ukambani region voted overwhelmingly for NASA's Raila Odinga who had Kalonzo Musyoka as his running mate.However, Uhuru's campaigns in the area have been boosted after a group of leaders defected to the ruling party vowing to conduct intensive campaigns for the Jubilee party leader.They were led by former Wiper chairman David Musila and a number of former MPs.
