Former Machakos senator Johnson Muthama has asked president Uhuru Kenyatta's Jubilee party to back off Ukambani region.

Muthama says that UhuRuto attempts to sway the region will never work.

According to the former senator, Jubilee is using every trick to woe the region that voted overwhelmingly for NASA leader Raila Odinga in the August 8 general election.

Muthama said that Jubilee has nothing to offer the Kamba community adding that it is only a NASA government that can address the issues facing locals.

“Ukambani will never dance to Jubilee tune and UhuRuto should get it and stop wasting their money campaigning in Ukambani,” he told journalists in Nairobi on Tuesday.

Muthama also hit out at Deputy President William Ruto over what he termed as consistent attacks on the NASA deputy leader Kalonzo Musyoka.

He asked DP Ruto to leave Kalonzo alone saying that he (Ruto) does not match Kalonzo’s politics.

Muthama said that DP Ruto alleged verbal attacks on Kalonzo is an act of disrespect to the Kamba community.

He said that Ukambani will not be part of the October 26 repeat poll.

The senator claimed that IEBC and Jubilee have been allegedly colluding to conduct a sham election to favor President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Muthama said that October 26 will be a normal day adding that NASA quest for reforms through peaceful demonstrations will not be stopped.

On Monday Jubilee toured Machakos and Kitui counties wooing for support ahead of the October 26 repeat poll.

During the tour president Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy castigated the opposition accusing it of plotting for violence in the name electoral reforms.

The president pleaded with Kambas to vote for him in next week’s repeat presidential poll.
