Kitui East MP Nimrod Mbai has said Deputy President William Ruto will easily succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022.
Mbai said Ruto has the political muscles to succeed Uhuru Kenyatta compared to other contestants who have declared the interests in the top seat.
According to Mbai, Ruto has the numbers that will propel him to the presidency.
“DP Ruto is the president in waiting and that is a fact which will manifest itself in 2022,” Ruto said.
Mbai addressed the press in Kitui town on Saturday.
He said Ruto is a political strategist who knows how to get the numbers.
Mbai at the same time said Ukambani region will support DP Ruto’s 2022 bid.
“Ukambani will rally behind William Ruto to make sure that we are part of the government,” he said.
Mbai said Ukambani has been in the political cold for a long time.
Ruto is among top politicians who are eyeing the presidential seat in 2022.
The DP is banking on President Uhuru Kenyatta and Mt Kenya's support in his bid to be president.
