Addressing a press conference in Machakos town on Saturday, the leaders under the banner of Ukambani Youth Forum said it was high time the Kamba community charted political way forward by dismissing Kalonzo.

They declared the purported talks failed to take the entire community's cognizance and instead focused on seeking to salvage the dwindling political star of the former VP.

"Kalonzo has burnt all bridges due to his flip floppy nature, he continues to be seen as a betrayer who has no stand on any issue," the forum's spokesman Vincent Luka said.

Luka said the meeting addressed nothing about jobs for the youth, water for the people, roads and food security.

The leaders said the same meeting failed to include the youth who constitute over 80 percent of the local population.

The youth leaders revisited their resolve to back the Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua whom they described as the "only other Kamba leader" who has declared interest in the Presidency come 2022.

"Dr Mutua is seen by many as firm and visionary besides being youthful," Luka said.
