Deputy President William Ruto has indicated that the government will expand the Ukunda-Likoni road.
He said the usually busy road which connects Kwale and Mombasa counties would be expanded to a dual carriage way.
During his visit to Msambweni from Mombasa on Saturday morning, Ruto made a road side stopover at Likoni where he addressed residents.
He noted that a by-pass would as well be constructed to ease congestion at Likoni.
"Dualling the Ukunda-Likoni Road and construction of a bypass to link the mainland with Diani, in the South Coast will decongest vehicular, human traffic and increase economic activity at the Likoni channel," said the DP.
He had crossed the Likoni Ferry from Mombasa, as headed to commission road projects in Kwale county.
