The chances that Ulinzi Stars will advance to the next stage of the CAF Confederations Cup after suffering a 4 – 0 loss at the hands of Egyptian side Smouha are very slim, and head coach Benjamin Nyangweso knows just that.
The team was handed the beating in Alexandria on Friday 10th March and heading to the return leg, the coach has rallied his charges to give their best despite the big deficit.
Ulinzi Stars overcame Al Hilal Benghazi in the first round after overturning a 0 – 1 first leg loss but this time it will be much harder even as he calls on his charges to improve on the performance a week ago.
“It is not an easy task because they are not an easy team as well. We need to work extra hard. It is a huge deficit but we must give our best,” the tactician offered.
“We did not play as we had planned. They (Smouha) were faster than us and at times we struggled to keep up with the pace. It wasn’t anywhere close to our best performance. We have to go back now and correct the mistakes.” He told the club’s website
