Tusker FC continues their poor start to the new campaign, after going down 1-0 to Ulinzi Stars at the Afraha Stadium.
The match, which was staged on Sunday at a slippery pitch owing to the heavy rains, was open, and any of the teams would have easily won the contest.
It was Tusker who got the game going early on, but their poor finishing in front of goal meant they were punished later on in the match.
The soldiers were let off the hook in the early minutes of the match, and Duncan Ochieng had to be at his best when called into action.
Edwin Lavtsa was the main culprit, missing a clear-cut chance after the Ulinzi defense failed to clear their lines.
James Saruni had to make a point-blank save to deny the former Kenya international.
The Brewers failed to once again clear their lines, with Masita Masuta rising highest to head home a cross from the ever-present Cliff Kasuti to give the home team all three points.
Tusker has started the season on a low note and will look to improve in the coming matches if they are to sustain a fruitful campaign.
