After a wobbly 2017 Kenya Premier League season that saw them finish a distant seventh, Ulinzi Stars has now embarked on a mission to revive the team's prospect and will be hoping to bag at least a piece of silverware in the upcoming 2018 season.
Club chairman Lt. Erick Oloo said on Monday that the Soldiers have strengthened key areas that disadvantaged their prospects last season.
"Last year we did not do well like we had expected but we have done well in terms of recruitments and so whatever gaps that were there are sealed to see that we win silverware this year and the new players we have brought in have the capacity to do the job," he told the club's portal.
The Soldiers lost the services of their key strikers, Stephen Waruru and Sammy Onyango who joined rival teams, Sofapaka and Gor Mahia respectively but have since brought in six new additions to help provide some cover.
The six include former Nzoia Sugar striker Masita Masuta, Michael Kahindi, Oscar Njika, George Omondi and Milton Wafula.
The Nakuru-based side will begin their title hunt against Kericho Zoo at their Afraha turf on February 2.
