Three players from Ulinzi Stars are among the 25-man squad that Harambee Stars head coach Paul Put named ahead of the Cecafa tourney set to begin on December 3 in Kenya.
The trio comprising defender Omar Mbongi, forwards Samuel Onyango and Stephen Waruru will once more be donning the national colours even as Stars plan on how to counter tough opposition to try and win the trophy they last lifted in 2015.
Mbongi has been a regular face in Stars backline where he is once more expected to feature prominently alongside Gor Mahia's Mussa Mohammed and Harun Shakava as well as Posta Rangers Jockins Atudo.
The absence of foreign based legion comprising Micahel Olunga and Jesse Were should earn Onyango and Waruru some more playing time but that will be up to the technical bench to decide.
Sadly for Ulinzi, the two players have been linked with a move away from the club with Waruru indicating that he wants to pursue other things while Onyango is heavily linked with KPL champions Gor Mahia.
