Ulinzi Stars seemed to be making a comeback in the league after a perfect start where they won 4-2 against Zoo Kericho but were brought back to death when they lost 1-0 to Sony Sugar.

The defensemen went into the match as favorites but were stunned by Salim Babu’s men, whose 15th-minute goal from Clinton Omondi was brought to give them the three points they needed.

The four-time champions had not won a match against the millers in their last seven attempts and found the going tough.

With defending champions Gor Mahia and archrivals AFC Leopards committed to continental assignments, Ulinzi would have taken the opportunity to open a gap at eh top of the table standings.

Other teams that lost in the second matches of the league included;

Tusker FC

The loss of key players such as Allan Wanga and Humphrey Mieno seems to have affected the former champions and were held to a draw in their latest KPL match.

They were held on by Posta Rangers FC, and lie 15th in the current league standings.

Thika United too blew the chance to stay in the leading pack, after throwing away a two-goal lead to draw 3-3 with Nakumatt FC on Saturday.
