Ulinzi Stars striker Stephen Waruru has been dropped from the Harambee Stars squad that is set to represent the country in the regional Cecafa senior challenge tourney that kicks off on December 3 on home soil.
The final squad named by head coach Paul Put had the dimunitive dangerman missing while Zoo Kericho's Isaac Kipyegon makes the final cut.
It is still not clear why Waruru could have been dropped when expectations were high that he would lead Stars' hunt for goals.
He becomes the second Ulinzi man to miss out on the 9-teams bonanza after teammate Omar Mbongi was ruled out with an illness. Sammy Onyango is the only 'Soldier' left in the 23- man squad.
