Manga stadium in Kitutu Masaba constituency is one of the mega projects that was the fruits of devolutions but fours years after its rehabilitation was started, the stadium is yet to be completed to the standards set.

Nyamira governor, John Nayamaraga had assured the residents that the stadium was to be renovated to international standards and Sh60 million was set aside in two financial years, 2014/2015 and 2015/2016, for facilitate this.

More than three years later, the stadium has not been completed as expected and has remained partially closed with no major activities.

According to the set standards, the stadiums has a capacity of 30,000 sitted people but there are not seats.

The stadium is mainly used for national celebrations and political functions. However, sports and recreation have not been part of the stadium's routine which has raised various questions among the residents of Manga sub county.

Speaking to the residents, they accused the county government for embezzling funds in the name of renovation the stadium.

"We don't see any use of this stadium as its gate remain closed all through unless during special functions by the politicians. We we don't know what the county government is planning," said John Mogaka.

The construction had faced various opposition from the public and Nyamira county majority chief whip Peter Mororo who said the funds were too much as the stadium levels were substandard.
