The Sacco management maintained that strict monitoring would be carried out on all drivers, to ensure that they follow the traffic rules to the latter.

Speaking on Friday in Machakos town, the Sacco chairman Steve Mutuku stated that the two-week suspension cost the Sacco millions of shillings, and stated they were working to ensure the situation never happens again.

All the vehicles under the Sacco were suspended for two weeks, following a fatal accident involving one of its vehicles that left two passengers dead in Masii-Tawa road.

Mutuku further confirmed that the Sacco had formed a team that will be monitoring the conductors and drivers of the vehicles under the Sacco, to ensure compliance with the rules.

“We already have a team in place to keep an eye the drivers and conductors who contravene the aligned laws that could cause and accident. From today you will start seeing reckless drivers in court,” he added.

Mutuku has confirmed that 99 vehicles have already resumed transportation.
