The United Nations Refugee agency has now appealed to donors to usher in their support in terms of repatriation package for the Somalia refugees living in Kenya's Dadaab Camp.
“The funds will support repair and maintenance of schools, health units, roads and livelihood initiatives that will offer employment opportunities. Donor agencies both in Kenya and other nations should provide us with additional funding to facilitate a safe and humane relocation of Somalia refugees still living in Dadaab," said the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, Filippo Grandi.
The commissioner said the repatriation package will be inclusive of food rations, cash and health kits to fully support refugees who successfully return home for six months.
‘’Additional resources are urgently needed to support the provision of very basic needs and even long-term development projects in Somalia," added Grandi.
