The United Nations has reacted to the recent agreement between President Uhuru Kenyatta and NASA leader Raila Odinga.
Through a statement, Secretary General Antonio Guterres welcomed the new partnership stating that the UN committed to supporting Kenya's efforts for peace, stability and development.
"We welcome the statement [they] issued ... declaring their commitment to working together to strengthen the unity of the country for all Kenyans," Guterres said.
On Friday, President Uhuru and Raila engaged in talks that were supposed to push for National unity.
The leaders announced that they had buried the hatchet and agreed to roll out a programme that will implement their shared objectives.
.They signed a communique highlighting plans to deal with ethnic friction and competition, lack of national ethos and corruption.
