They are the latest two new millionaires in town thanks to Kenya’s premier betting site Bet Pawa.
Ahmed Abdi and Paul Karanja, their beautiful wives and kids in tow, exploded with obvious joy in front of flashing cameras during a glamorous awards ceremony at the Bet Pawa offices in Nairobi.

Mr. Karanja who plies his trade as a nurse placed a 26-fixture multi-bet on a chilly Friday 26, staking one shilling.
He didn’t stop there; he selected 20 other matches and staked one bob.
The betting bug still biting him, Paul placed other two 1 bob bets and went back to his normal business.
The realization that the only hurdle between millions and himself was just one game dawned on him on Saturday.
He couldn’t take his eyes off the screen of his phone, keen to know his fate.
With just twenty games to go with the match still held to a draw, the wait could not have been more agonizing.
He had given the away team a straight win.
“I kept my fingers crossed as I followed the match online. With just twenty minutes to end the tie, the home team equalised, yet I had given the away team a straight win.’’ He said.
And then, boom! The away team scored and with that, a millionaire came into being!
Ahmed Ali, a taxi driver, placed two multi-bets on Bet Pawa; 4 bob for one bet and 1 bob for the other. The two bets bagged him 342,672 shillings and 1,986,492 shillings.
Ahmed who has subscribed to one of the Taxi-hailing apps says he will buy another car with the cash he won courtesy of Bet Pawa.
“Thanks to Bet Pawa, I am purchasing a new car to boost my business.” He said, a wide grin pulling at his lips.
The substantial money earned by the two was a consequence of the number of matches they selected which help boost their bonuses; the more fixtures you select, the greater the bonuses.
