It is surely true that you are the only one who can determine your destiny.
This is the saying that Pius Aboso has always lived with even as he struggles to fulfill his life ambition to become a technician.
The 28-year-old manages his time well in his quest to fulfill his ambitions.
Having finished form four, Mr Aboso had no hope to join college as his family could not afford college fees.
It was then that he decided to come to Mombasa to start with his life journey that saw him get a job with a security firm to work as a security guard.
Being deployed on night shift worked to his advantage as he quickly joined Mombasa Aviation College to study a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, a course he expects to finish in December.
However, that has come with an equal share of challenges.
Often, he is forced to keep sleep at bay during his class time which he says disadvantages him considering he is expected to be awake the whole night.
"There are many challenges I go through but I don't complain," said Aboso during an interview on Saturday.
"In life, you can make it as long as you show the desire and commitment," he advises.
He says that the people complaining of joblessness have to think twice.
He says that life doesn't become kind to those who are choosy.
