On Monday, the meteorological department announced that temperatures are expected to rise by one or two degrees across the country, with Garissa, Mandera, Tana Tiver and Mombasa counties experiencing higher margins of temperature rise.

While this may sound as a light relief to a number of Kenyans who have been rising up to cloudy and chilly mornings, pastoralist communities in Garissa are a worried lot given the fact that several weeks ago, Isiolo grazing lands were declared out of bounds for them due to tension and discontent that was gradually piling up.

In view of the forecasters, the meteorological department is now urging all the relevant parties involved in different economic sectors to take full advantage of the positive and negative impacts of the weather changes that may be witnessed during this season.
