Kisumu West MP Olago Aluoch has been admitted at the Aga Khan hospital in Kisumu after he was found unconscious in his home in Kisumu town. Kisumu Senator Prof Anyang Nyongo told mourners who had turned up to bid the late Fidel Odinga farewell at Kisumu sports ground that he received a call informing him that the MP was sick. Nyongo said efforts were being made to airlift the MP to Nairobi for specialised treatment. The senator called upon Kisumu residents to pray for the MP as he receives treatment. “The information reaching me is that MP Olago is sick and I want you to pray for him as he receives medication,” he told the mourners. According to the MP’s daughter, who spoke to the media, her father was found unconscious at their home in Riat in the outskirts of Kisumu town. She said her father was rushed to Aga Khan Kisumu hospital where doctors attended to him and efforts were being made to transfer him to Nairobi. The cause of his sickness has not yet been established. Kisumu Aga Khan Hospital Superintendent Dr Sam Oula confirmed that the MP is still admitted at the facility but could not divulge more on the cause of his illness. “The MP was admitted at the facility and doctors are attending to him. I will brief you later," he said.
