A female suspect has been detained after it was reported that she was in possession of a phone used to send threatening messages to the late Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) ICT manager Chris Msando.

This discovery follows his memorial service last week.

According to police the suspect was arrested in Awendo, Migori County and later brought to Nairobi. 

She was summoned before the Kiambu Juvenile Court and is currently being detained at the Muthaiga Police Station.

According to reports, the seven days detention period issued to the suspect will allow investigators ample time to complete the investigation.

The late Msando was buried at his home in Saiya County
