Machakos Senator Johnston Muthama and Kangundo MP Robert Ngui have complained against the contractor of the airport road linking Kangundo and Kathiani locations.
Speaking during a church service in Kangundo on Sunday, Muthama explained that it was crucial for the road to be completed and the way opened as the continued delay is hindering development of the two towns.
“The contractor should speed up construction. Businesses in Kathaana and Kanthi markets has come to a standstill because they depend on the vehicles that were using that road to expand their businesses and for easy transportation which is now closed,” said Muthama.
Ngui insisted that the delay of construction was also costing the road users a lot more fuel as the drivers have to use the Tala road and go round to Kenol town rather than using the normal airport road.
This comes after a plan by the county government to tarmac all major linkage roads was supported strongly by Governor Alfred Mutua.
